I grew up in a big Mexican-American family in Colorado, but have lived in several other states and countries throughout my 40 years. I have two kiddos, both adopted, and we have called Atlanta home for the past seven years. 

My abuela was the one who introduced the importance of clean living into my life and living several years abroad deepened a passion for more sustainable living. I have long been known as "that" friend/family member who exemplifies a low-waste lifestyle and encourages others to opt for more environmentally-friendly and sustainable practices. Additionally, I hold a Master's in Disability Studies and have been deeply involved in disability advocacy, awareness, and inclusion for over a decade. I have worked to cultivate caring community among individuals with and without disability labels. I have witnessed the gifts and capacities of folks with developmental disabilities, as well as the social injustices they face. I also work for an organization called Citizen Advocacy of Atlanta and Dekalb.
